Director Biography - Alexandra Figueroa Chacin

I am an aspiring filmmaker with a profound passion for the art of storytelling.

Through freelance short film productions, I've gained extensive hands-on experience in roles such as producer, writer, director, production designer, set dresser, editor, and co-creator of a social justice documentary focusing on recovery journeys from substance abuse.

As a recent Hispanic graduate from the University of Virginia, I am directing my career towards the film/tv content development and production sectors of the entertainment industry, leveraging my passion for crafting compelling narratives in art, filmmaking, television, and writing. With a diverse skill set and unwavering enthusiasm, I am dedicated to making a meaningful impact in cinema by creating stories that resonate with audiences worldwide.

Director Statement

At UVA, there's a year long class in which the first semester, the students write 5 short film screenplays, and then choose one to produce it the second semester. The class is taught by Doug Grissom and Paul Wagner, and it was one of the best experiences I've ever had. Almost as an independent study with guidance from our professors, I went through each step of Film Production. I found my Producer, Production Designer, Director of Photography/Editor, casted the actors, and found a crew that was passionate about every stage of the production.

The process of writing this script was long and challenging, but I'm extremely proud to present it to everyone. My fantastic and talented actors brought my script to life, and I could have not done it without my crew.
