Seeds of Memory
Walking in the footsteps of his ancestors, Abderrahim takes on the responsibility of being a third-generation Muslim caretaker of a Jewish cemetery and a 700-year-old burial site of a Jewish saint.
The site currently serves as the basis of an interfaith fruit tree nursery and neighbors the Achbarou women’s cooperative, two initiatives that the High Atlas Foundation is supporting for the benefit of the Akrich and Achbarou communities.

Philos Belliti is an Italian filmmaker, class 95. In addition to his documentary work, Belliti has also directed music videos and commercials for a variety of clients. He has a particular interest in telling stories about environmentalism and cultures from around the world.
What inspired this short documentary was my interest in exploring the theme of interfaith connection in morocco showing that coexistence is possible.
It is through this film that I attempt to showcase a side of Morocco that is not often seen or known, narrating the incredible necessity rural communities have to be able to sustain themselves and grow into contributing figures of society.
