Beej Bank - Prampragat Ann Kisano Ke Sang

After the advent of the Green Revolution, the income of Indian farmers increased. But the use of chemical fertilizers and hybrid seeds started increasing as well. Also, we started losing our traditional seeds. The farmers of Madhya Pradesh were also not left untouched by this. Hence, the Gram Sudhar Samiti (GSS) started a unique initiative to reduce the dependency of farmers on the market in Sidhi district.

Director Biography - Sunil Kumawat, Hari Kumar Kunjam

Sunil Kumawat is a resident of Jaipur district of Rajasthan. Since childhood, he has had a close relationship with trees and plants. He enjoys meeting new people and understanding their unique ways of life. His interest in working with people led him to work in association with The School for Democracy. During the Green Hub Fellowship, Sunil developed a keen interest in bird watching, while also experiencing a growing fondness for nature.

Hari Kumar Kunjam resides in Bevarti village in North Bastar Kanker in Chhattisgarh and belongs to the Gond community of Bastar. Prior to joining Green Hub as a fellow, Hari worked with the KBKS team to ensure and protect Community Forest Resources (CFR) under the Forest Rights Act. He has a keen interest in the conservation of traditional and environmental knowledge of tribal folk as well as community conservation through local governance. An explorer at heart, he enjoys photography and videography as well as making environmental documentaries and is an avid film buff.
