This is the 8th year running on Anglesey and we are welcoming films from anywhere in the world. We would obviously like to understand your film, so please subtitle them if they are not in English.
This year we are welcoming entries for feature length films for the first time, a category we hope to develop into a Q&A evening with the winners. We can also do this via live link up.
All that we require is that you mention the "Sea" via dialogue or visually, with a timecode reference to where you feature "the Sea" or we cannot accept your entry.

We will NOT watch your film if you do not mark the TIMECODE where you mention the "SEA" in your SYNOPSIS. Please.

Judges yet to be confirmed (normally industry folks) will choose the finalists of each category at the public screening in the cinema on Saturday 22nd October, then have another screening of the winners, on the following day Sunday 23rd. We might have a networking event or a Q&A on an evening over that weekend depending on numbers and availability of Judges and entrants.

Anglesey is an Island off the coast of Wales and Holyhead is part of Holy Island an island off Anglesey. The Ucheldre centre is the Arts centre here on the Holy Isle and the cinema for the event is here. Ucheldre is A Welsh language word for Higher Town which is where the arts centre is based. It is in an area of outstanding beauty and the venue itself is also a beautiful building and well worth a visit.

We have loved connecting with other sea lovers and filmmakers since 2014 and we look forward to seeing your films this year.

Safe sailing, love from Angharad Parry - Festival Director.
'Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbour. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover' - Mark Twain

  • I love the notion of a 'Sea' specific festival. Since I already have a great love for the sea it often appears in my work. I was beyond thrilled that 'The Fall Chorus' was selected as their winner of best music video. Great communication from the team. A high quality festival run with a love of the subject and film and I have nothing but huge appreciation and admiration for the whole team there. A quality festival.

  • A small 1 1/2 day screening on an island across the sea from Dublin, organized by a dedicated director - the sea had to be shown in the films which I could deliver with "Fog Horns" and "Goethe in Train" - Thanks!

Loved this festival. They made us so welcome. Quality of both the films selected and the venue for the screening was superb. Highly recommend entering and attending this excellent film festival.
