A multi-faceted artist, Sebastian LaCause has been expressing through the performing arts since childhood. First as a professional dancer, working on Broadway, then as an actor in television and film. In 2011 Sebastian began to expand his artistry into storytelling with his provocative digital series Hustling, where he served as writer, director, producer and editor. Hustling ran for three seasons on his Youtube Channel and racked up over six million views, a number of Indie Series Awards and a Webby Award Nomination in the long-form drama category. With no formal training, a willingness to learn on the fly and a passion for storytelling, Sebastian parlayed the skills he learned filming Hustling and helmed the independent comedy series He's With Me for two seasons and then the dramady Life's A drag, also independently produced and distributed on Youtube. Sebastian not only directed, but also shot both series, did the editing and music supervised. His narrative short, DISCIPLE marks his first venture into filmmaking. He recently followed that with, Blackberry. An experimental film, he also shot that explores compulsion in relationships.
As I discover my voice as a filmmaker, I realize my desire to tell stories that inspire the viewer to examine their own lives and reach beyond limitations. I love to explore the path of self-realization, acceptance and forgiveness and using storytelling as a tool for transformation.
