Dorcas, a magazine editor in her early thirties, struggles to connect with her husband, John, a banker, months after their wedding. Haunted by relentless nightmares, she avoids intimacy, leaving John confused and desperate to understand her silence. One day, while searching for a document, John discovers a mysterious parcel containing HIV medication. Shocked, he confronts Dorcas, who tearfully confesses her hidden past: as a child, she was forcefully circumcised with unsterile tools, an ordeal that claimed her friends’ lives and left her HIV-positive.
Overwhelmed by her survival and resilience, John promises his support, pledging to get tested and stand by her side. Together, they resolve to rebuild their marriage, embracing honesty, love, and hope despite the challenges ahead.

Bringing this story to life has been an emotional and transformative journey. With this film, I sought to spark conversations about trauma, stigma, and the silent battles many people face. Seeing how audiences have connected with Dorcas and John’s story has been profoundly moving.
The film’s reception has reaffirmed the importance of telling stories that challenge societal norms and encourage empathy. Dorcas’ journey of survival and the couple’s path to healing reflect a universal struggle to reconcile with the past and embrace hope.
I’m grateful to my cast, crew, and everyone who trusted this vision. Their dedication brought authenticity to every frame, ensuring the story felt both intimate and impactful. My hope is that this film continues to inspire dialogue, encourage compassion, and remind viewers that love and understanding are some of the greatest tools for overcoming adversity.
'Sealed' connects with a global audience and leaves them angry enough to call out the crime of Female genital mutilation.
