Schwarz's Journey Across Europe

Interactive Light Designs, in collaboration with the Ephorate of Antiquities of Larissa, presents an innovative augmented reality installation at the historic mansion of Georgios Mavros (Schwarz) in Ambelakia. This groundbreaking experience combines technology and history, utilizing an interactive wooden table equipped with touch sensors that react to visitors' touch.

Visitors can explore Schwarz's fascinating journey through Europe via mapped video projections and live narratives that come to life before their eyes. Each stop on the journey is animated with historical letters transformed into moving images, enriched with sound effects and authentic testimonies from the era, creating an impressive and educational experience.

This unique combination of technology and historical representation allows visitors to fully immerse themselves in the history and heritage of Georgios Mavros. The mansion of Georgios Schwarz belongs to the Ministry of Culture. Its construction began in 1787 and was completed in 1798. It served as both a residence and the headquarters of the Common Company of Ambelakia, the cooperative for the production and distribution of the renowned threads in Europe. The mansion is an excellent example of traditional 18th-century architecture. With the completion of the conservation work on the murals, painted surfaces, and wooden elements of the mansion, as well as the lighting of the building both externally and internally and the application of new technologies for the benefit of visitors, this fascinating historical landmark of Ambelakia is thoroughly highlighted, creating a strong attraction to boost the area's tourism.
