As an actor, Luís Araújo worked with filmmakers such as Sofia Arriscado, M.F. Costa e Silva, Vasco Mendes, Emily Wardill, João Rosas, Tiago Guedes, Filipe Melo and Filipa Amaro, with performers such as Pascal Lièvre, Rodolphe Cintorino and Miguel Bonneville and with theater directors such as Nuno Cardoso, António Durães, Fernando Moreira, Ricardo Pais, João Pedro Vaz, Nuno M. Cardoso, Carlos Pimenta, Nuno Carinhas, Gonçalo Amorim, Jacinto Lucas Pires, Tiago Guedes and Mickael Oliveira, among others. In 2007, he conceived his first theater project: “You Show Me My Face". In 2010 he co-directed the play “T3+1” and in 2012 “Katzelmacher” In 2013 he created the performance piece “Perspicere”. In 2014 he co-created “Celeste”, (winner of the FATAL 2015 award). In 2015 he adapted, staged and performed in “Charity” and in 2016 adapted and staged “Underground - the end of ends is to do nothing” Still in 2016, he was the creator selected by the Union of Theaters of Europe and Creative Europe to represent Portugal in a Masterclass in Russia promoted by UTE. In 2017 he created the performance “Feminine/Feminine” within MARTE - Visual Arts Exhibition, in 2018 he staged and performed in “Lungs” by Duncan Macmillan and in 2019 “The Tragedy of Julius Caesar” by William Shakespeare, in 2020 he performed and conceived the audio-drama “Take Away” and in 2021 the sound project “Ruins”. In 2022, he conceived the site-specific project “Platô” and in 2023 he wrote and directed the plays “Apnea” and “Family Home”. In 2024, he co-wrote with Tiago Guedes the script for his next feature film (in pre-production), wrote and directed the theater play “The Missing Piece” and co-wrote Bruno Nogueira’s next TV Show.
