Say Her Name
Mahalia Fields, a young woman who is anxious to attend Spelman University, has a huge dream: to be able to graduate and become one of the top prosecutors in New York City. She’s lived her entire life suffering from mild schizophrenia and post-traumatic stress disorder due to the incident of an attempted drowning by the hands of her oldest brother. Mahalia forgives her brother for what he did, but is afraid of becoming just like him.
One night hanging out with some friends, she finds herself overcoming her biggest fears - the beach and falling in love with her best friend.
Throughout the night, she has numerous episodes, but not quite understanding why they are so powerful on this one night.
Usually they're not as bad, her best friend even being able to point that out.
But she has a nerve-wrecking feeling...
... And soon enough, she will realize that it wasn't just an emotion - but a nightmare coming true that will change everyone's lives around her for good.
