Save Face

Since Kid has gotten her new job, she has noticed that the perfect reputation and track record that she has maintained for years is crumbling. Her self-loathing takes on a dangerous personhood in her mind and threatens her to either fix herself or suffer the consequences. She is forced to make a decision: either let her ideal self die or once again abuse herself into submission.

Director Biography - Maggie Peña

Maggie Peña, a Cinema, Television and Digital Media student, graduates Oral Roberts University in May 2025. She loves making films that console the brokenhearted and bring joy to the artist. When she isn't making movies or writing stories, she likes getting inspired and making weird art.

Director Statement

Around the time this was being made, a favored director of mine finished their career with a "farewell" film. This inspired me to create my first film as a farewell film: a goodbye to perfectionism, and a new mission to make art in community.

Save Face is an invitation to choose relationship over perfection.
