Satya The Truth
Consensual sex between two adults of same sex was decriminalized in India very recently in 2018. However, homosexuality is still considered as a taboo in Assam. This is a story after 2018 when Satya, a smart, educated & cultured small town young man fell in love with a reputed, matured businessman of Guwahati city of Assam, a North Eastern State of India. However in Assam, a large section of society believes that homosexuality is a mental disorder and most of the people are not accepting LGBTQIA community with open heart. As such Satya doesn't get any kind of support from his family. Even the love of his life Amar had to leave him midway due to some unavoidable circumstances. Satya was totally devastated but at that time his family stood beside him. Later, he found solace in his childhood friend Samir.
Homosexuality is a very sensitive and most avoided subject in Assamese Film Industry and this Gay movie is the 1st of its kind in Assam.
