Sarimihetsika
In the wonderful land of Madagascar, as everywhere else, the problems are strictly human. The nature, placid and majestic, stands still.

In the Malagasy language, the word “cinema” is translated “Sarimihetsika” which literally means “moving image”. I thought this could be the perfect title for a documentary that, through silent images in motion, wants to show at the same time the poverty and the natural richness of a big island country in the Indian Ocean, off the coast of East Africa. The nature looks like an impassive spectator of difficult human lives that, probably, are victim and perpetrator of themselves, in Madagascar like everywhere else in the world.
