Despite how recognized it is in the whole world since ages, Hip-hop has only spread significantly in Egypt recently, Specially after evolution of independent filmmaking and the ease of the production process, in both aspects, whether audio or visual, compared to previous eras.

Hiphop received a wide range of audience for several reasons, including the simplicity of the terminologies, its realism, and its closeness to the listeners without fabricating or the usual censorship limitations.

But before that rapid spread, which clearly escalated in 2019. There were many underground hip-hop artists, whether on the Internet or rap battle business, but they did not receive the appropriate appreciation at the time, and one of the neighbourhoods which had a good reputation in that field is El-Zatoun neighbourhood.
