Santiago Van Dam was born in Honduras in 1980. He has a degree as Sound & Image Designer from the Universidad of Buenos Aires and has worked as a copywriter, screenwriter and content coordinator for various funds and clients (Formar, Astrolab Motion, Editorial Sol90, TDA, Baggage, Studi Cases, Encuadre S.A., INCAA, Sony Spin, MTV, La Segunda Seguros, Banco Itaú, among others).
As a film screenwriter, Santiago has won the Raimundo Gleyzer contest (organised by the INCAA - National Institute of Cinema of Argentina) twice, as a screenwriter for "La Peli de Batato" (Metropolitan Region 2008, already produced and released in 2011) and "Encandilan Luces" (NOA Region 2013, already filmed and currently In postproduction).
In the year 2011 he wrote and co-directed the tv shows “Rock Road Latino” and “Rock Road Brasil” both shows were on Latin Sony Spin tv Channel. That year he won the TV Documentary Series Contest organised by TV Digital INCAA and UNSAM with the Documentary “Lunfardo Argento” about Argentinian Slang words and meanings. The show was aired over a four year period in Canal Encuentro, Canal de la Ciudad and other TV channels.
In 2015 he wrote the children animated series “Javi y el club del árbol” Produced by Astrolab Motion. That show won the price for best animated tv series of the Television Digital Abierta.

“May you live in interesting times” is his first feature film as a scriptwriter and director.
