Slipface
A wandering sand dune slowly buries a small rural town in Michigan.
This dune is famous in the off-roading community, for track-racing and launching four-wheelers into the sky. On the other side of the dune - the slipface - members of the local community dig out sand daily with a tractor.
The film is meant to be a speculative view of non-carbon life amidst all the human drama and aims to frame a dune as the main character. Seemingly infinite, sand is one of earth's quickest disappearing materials - dredged from waterways to make everything from concrete to private islands. It’s really "slipping between our fingers."
