Sanctum

Sanctum is a movement inquiry that emerges from a multidisciplinary collaboration between costume design and contemporary dance to simultaneously depict a metaphoric exchange and an imagined landscape. By tuning in to the expressivity of the materials we are engaging with, we hope to open up a dialogue around intercorporeality by pushing the range of our sensory access — specifically visual, aural and kinaesthetic — to different textiles. The making of Sanctum was improvisational, spontaneous and intuitive and the work invites audiences to be as receptive to their sensations in much the same way as they experience the work.
