SANCHEZ 2WINZ is a New York City-based artist duo consisting of twin brothers Raúl Sanchez and Rod Sánchez. Their musical style blends cinematic electronica and progressive house with contemporary orchestral instrumentation including piano and harmonica. Their visual art blends surreal allegories, personified emotions, and symbolic metaphors with the instrumentation of colors to allow for a symphony of the imagination and emotion to emerge. They design immersive live cinema audio/visual experiences that reimagine storytelling for the senses incorporating visual art and music – creating surreal experiences in both real and imagined spaces.
In terms of recent works, Sanchez 2winz created the award-winning animated music video “Winged Painter,” raising over $1,000 for the RAINN charity (Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network) affiliated with recording artist/musician Tori Amos. “Winged Painter” was an official music video tribute dedicated to Tori Amos and the RAINN (Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network) campaign, the largest national anti-sexual violence non-profit organization that was named one of "America's 100 Best Charities" by Worth magazine. Their campaign was featured on Tori Amos’ Undented page and social media channels for RAINN and “Winged Painter” was an Official Selection of the Orlando Film Festival, earning nominations for: Best Music Video and Best Artwork. Their earlier track, “Over White Mountains” is featured on iTunes. Their artwork and animated films have also been exhibited internationally at the Tishman Auditorium at The New School University, Parsons Gallery at Parsons School of Design, New York University, New York Short Film Festival, Palm Springs Art Museum at the Palm Springs International Animation Festival, White Rabbit Lounge, Columbia University, 3rd Ward Brooklyn Gallery, Big Screen Plaza, The Art Guild of Port Washington, Jersey City Theatre Center, McConnell Arts Center, Wexner Center for the Arts, Tribeca Performing Arts Center, and the MECA Mediterráneo Centro Artistico and the University of Granada in Spain.
