Director Statement

Leopoldo Rivera is a Mexican born independent filmmaker living in the San Francisco Bay Area. His experience as a young Mexican immigrant defined much of his recent experimental cinematic work. His short film "San Francisco Live" depicting the idiosyncrasies of San Francisco urban nighttime street entertainment was entered in a number of film festivals in 2017, including the San Francisco Latino Film Festival. His newest short film "Luna" is his first serious experimentation with time lapse filmmaking. His more commercial work has centered on lifestyle video production, but his focus and passion remain on short films depicting the different experiences of modern urban life.
