San Francisco Indie Short Festival is happy to welcome filmmakers from all over the world and short films of all genres. Our main goal is to showcase their brilliant projects in the beautiful city of San Francisco for a diverse audience of cinephiles. It is a world-class event committed to present the best of this beautiful art called 'Cinema' and dedicated to all generations of filmmakers. The festival has a bi-monthly and yearly structure. First of all, through "private" screenings, a team of professional screeners will evaluate all the submitted short films during each season. All the highest scored films will be reviewed by at least three judges who will decide through "private" screenings the best of each season. All the seasonal winners will receive the Official Laurels and the winning-category certificate for each season. We will announce the winners of each season through our social media. In the second stage, we will hold an annual physical event. Here, the internal committee selects the candidates for the yearly physical event from each season's winners. The selected films will compete for the annual awards. The annual event is scheduled for Nov 2021.

An online film festival was never held. The description states it's bi-monthly and has seasons, but when I asked for the date when my project will be screened they did not give me an answer. They stated, "If your project is selected for the annual online event, we will update you later." This is NOT bi-monthly or seasonal, this is actually annual per the email. So they declare winners but don't show the films? These $45 entry (which I did not pay, I got a coupon thankfully) festivals seem to all be run by the same company/person. I will no longer consider entering these festivals.

  • Great emerging bi-monthly festival with tons of categories and an active social media presence to help give your projects exposure. I'll certainly be back.

Good to be in a festival that reminds me of home. Since I’m from Sunnyvale and attended the Univ. of San Francisco but live in L.A. now. My team and I were excited to be a part of this festival and look forward to entering it again in the near future.
