Samir, the Somali word for “patience” recreating my experiences living in the Awbare refugee camp in Ethiopia for almost seven years. Stories inspired by my family and the patriarchal society we had to experience for being a girls. I read from one of my most precious journals to capture the loneliness and isolation of that difficult time. ”
