Private Project

Safe Ground

At the very center of the film, there is a young man named Jan, who attempts to suppress his feelings of insecurity, dissatisfaction, and lack of love through the consumption of alcohol and drugs. The spaces depicted in the film are solely his own perception of observing and perceiving the environment he is in. The overall chaos in the main character's mind is conceptually intended to be portrayed through the gradual decay of the interior. The fire serves as a link between two worlds in the movie: the world of illusion and the world of reality. The plot itself begins in ruins and continues in a tunnel that is, in fact, a representation of the main character's treatment for alcohol and drug addiction. While the fire constantly burns at the very heart of the tunnel, the main protagonist arrives at significant realizations about his life.
