Sacaca - The Legend

Raimundo dos Santos Souza (Sacaca) man who became respected through his mastery in the manipulation of plants and herbs from the Amazon. The grandson of slaves, he studied until the third year of primary school, and dedicated his life to helping and curing the physical and psychological ills of the inhabitants of the city of Macapá. His knowledge made him recognized and became a reference for researchers around the world.
Unjustly accused of drug trafficking, the man is arrested and provokes public indignation. Keeping the history of this man alive is also keeping alive the identity of an Amazon region rich in knowledge and an important biodiversity for the entire planet.

Director Biography - Antonio José Duarte Júnior

Screenwriter and director of the short documentary Sacaca - A Lenda, awarded with an Honorable Mention at the Curta Canoa Festival 2021 edition, Toninho Duarte is a Master Mind coaching from the Harvard Business School, has been working in the advertising market since 2002, founder of the production company Amazônia Filmes, co-producer of the short Agora Já It was-2015 winner of the Transcendental Film Festival as best short.
