I'm a storyteller who believes cinema can inspire, inform, and unite. My work explores profound questions about existence and responsibility while showcasing humanity's connection to nature. I find endless inspiration for storytelling.
I am Sabuj Miah, and I have spent over 8 years immersing myself in the captivating realm of making impact documentaries. My journey has led me to become a visionary documentary film director, deeply committed to the art of storytelling. It all began with a thirst for knowledge, culminating in the attainment of a Master's degree in Television, Film, and Photography from the esteemed Dhaka University.
Upon graduation, my voyage into the world of visual narratives commenced. I laid the initial bricks of my career during my early days at Drik Picture Library, setting the stage for what would become an illustrious path. However, it was at RedOrange where my creative spirit truly soared to new heights. It was here that I meticulously honed my craft, breathing life into a diverse array of films that resonated with both national and international audiences.
Among my proudest achievements are the documentaries "Cityfolk" and "Free Spirits," both of which found their way onto NTR Television screens in the Netherlands. These powerful narratives, born from my artistic vision, left an indelible mark on viewers across the globe.
Beyond my role as a director, I've embraced versatility with open arms. At various points in my journey, I've seamlessly transitioned into roles such as a video editor, colorist, and post-production supervisor, a testament to my unwavering commitment to every facet of filmmaking.
Within the dynamic environment of RedOrange, my responsibilities extend far and wide. I serve as the linchpin bridging the Operations Team and the Programs Team, ensuring a seamless flow of communication and efficient project management. My meticulous planning skills shine as I craft timelines and action plans to ensure the timely delivery of every project, a testament to my unwavering commitment to excellence.
My ability to juggle multiple tasks while maintaining a hawk-eyed focus on incoming and outgoing project details has earned me a reputation as a reliable pillar of support across departments. My collaborations with international filming crews as a character researcher and fixer have further enriched my global perspective.
As an integral part of the RedOrange team, I've tackled numerous photography assignments for NGOs and INGOs, effectively capturing stories that resonate with the hearts and minds of audiences. My expertise in nurturing public relations has been instrumental in the development of television shows, films, and music videos, solidifying my status as a seasoned professional in the industry.
In recognition of my outstanding contributions to the world of film and photography, I had the privilege of serving as a distinguished jury member at the prestigious Prix Europa Film Festival in Berlin in 2022. This honor not only reflects my expertise but also underscores my dedication to shaping the future of visual storytelling.
In essence, I am not just a documentary film director; I am a visionary storyteller who weaves the threads of humanity into every frame. My journey is a testament to the power of passion, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to the art of visual storytelling. I continue to inspire, captivate, and elevate the world of documentary filmmaking.

What is the name of the philosophical question that explores the concepts of "What is the philosophy of life?", "Who you are and why are you here?", and "What is our responsibility to being here?"
Feel free to answer when you're ready, and I'll let you know if you got it right!
Life's greatest philosophical journey begins with asking: 'What is the philosophy of life?' It leads us to the profound exploration of 'Who we are and why we are here?' Embracing our purpose becomes our responsibility to being here." Sabuj
