Director Biography - Vince Ivan Vesiete

Vince Ivan Vesiete is a 17-year-old Grade 12 student from General Santos City National Secondary School of Arts and Trades in General Santos City, Philippines, taking a TVL-Track major in Computer System Servicing.

Back in his junior high school days, He used to write short stories on an online platform but later on discovers His passion for filmmaking after a trailer-making project that has been tasked with their subject. Thrilled in the idea of bringing his stories to life, He starts to learn everything about filmmaking, thanks to the easy access of this modern era.

2020 is a year where He had a chance to put his learnings into action. His first short film, “A+,” was officially selected in Sundayag Film Festival, having two award nominations for Best Actor and Best in Editing. Then his recent film Orpheus got recognized in an International Film festival.

Storytelling was his escape from the world he lives and through filmmaking, bringing it to life is a vast experience for him. As experiences and imagination unite, He believes that his crafts will create an impact to raise some questions, to influence, and to inspire.

Director Statement

The youths of today are heavily affected by this pandemic. They have to deal with things such as not going out with friends, a frustrating school set up and some issues in their household.

This film wants to give hope to the youths out there that this suffering will surely end. Instead of perceiving this situation negatively, we must use it as an opportunity to know and to hone ourselves to the fullest.
