The Documentary "Sweet Knowledge and Traditions" is born as a dream, as a way to approach the childhood to that that transport us to the game, to the smell of a clear morning, to the sound of the river, to the love for grandparents and grandmothers, to the simplicity of a hidden smile after a prank. Liberals, sweet potatoes, birimbí, canapés, sweet cut, white delicacy, each and every one hides a story, and behind it a laborious hands that with care and dedication have taken care of every detail to make each bite an exquisite delicacy not only for the delight of our palates, but also for our senses. Each sweet tradition carries with it an anecdote, an epoch and a story.

Each sweet is a tradition that carries with it an anecdote, an epoch a story. Like Dona Aliria, a working woman, cheerful and affectionate, who has dedicated her life to sweetening Popayan in her booth "the girl Aliria", her dialogues with more than a hundred people who have enjoyed the delights of the place, have allowed him to weave his life around one of the most emblematic spaces in the city: the Anarkos Shopping Centre.

The stories of Dona Nilsa, who was not born in Popayan, loves the city that has hosted her for more than 30 years. From his childhood he kept the most wonderful memories sharing the delights that his mother prepared with his neighbors and friends, at the table he never missed the sweet. It evokes struggles and resistance in the Barrio Bolívar Square, territory still unexplored by many, but loved by those of us who know and believe that peasants deserve a better place in our lives, at our tables, in our homes. That place, guarded by a virgin at nightfall, with absences and presences, with reminders and home flavor.

In the struggles of Dona Carmen, born in Cajibío Cauca, the sweet became part of his being and smiles as he recalls his childhood, next to his mother, father and brothers. For her part, Dona Leonor Puliche affirms that she learned to make the most delicious preparations of life and that this was the only possibility to continue fighting and walking the path of work and resistance. She says that sweet potato gave her strength to follow, live and dream; always thinking that ancestral traditions and teachings will be able to resist the pressure of industry, so that they live not only in the hearts of those who enjoy them, but also of all who believe that the sweet is and always will be part of the body and spirit.

With a sweet taste of manjarillo, this documentary was built, inspired by laborious hands and rebellious spirits of men and women who bet him to tell stories, weave memories and remember that Popayan knows Colombia, coffee, corn, guava, sugar cane, mountains and the future.
