Matt and Jake were once close partners-in-crime until a falling out led them on vastly different paths. Jake settled down, started a family, and became a law-abiding citizen. Meanwhile, Matt coped with the loss of his wife through reckless partying and continued his criminal activities.

But when Jake's financial situation takes a turn for the worse and he needs a quick fix, he reaches out to Matt for help with one last heist. However, with a baby on the way and a newfound sense of responsibility, Jake betrays Matt and attempts to pull off the heist alone, only to fail.

As fate would have it, Matt stumbles upon the aftermath of the heist and finds a bag of cash left behind by an unknown robber. Without hesitation, he takes the money for himself, unaware of the identity of the robber. Unfortunately for Matt, the police catch up to him after discovering his fingerprints on the car and wrongly charge him with the murder of the robber, who turns out to be his former friend, Jake.
