Deafening silence and deep loneliness. Lucia and her husband are stuck in a great discomfort, in a meaningless married life empty of thought and desire for change. Untold feelings and domestic secrets lead the woman in search of the sun, of the warmth for an offended and irremediably denied intimacy in the context of conjugal dynamics. Lucia is the story of so many women alone who live with Eating Disorders and decide to walk in psychotherapy turning empty and heavy experiences into conscious steps of life.

Director Biography - Giada Costa

Giada Costa is an actress, stage director and playwrite. She's from Gela, and even if she attended Teatro Libero acting classes in Palermo and started working there, she never stopped her activity in her hometown, where she still cooperates with the Accademia di Arti Sceniche and joined Ananke team.

Director Statement

"Sole" is a short that deals with solitude. An eating disorder expresses in different ways the disperate hunger to be loved and we often think that it affects only young people. But through the experience of Doctor Morselli and after a long team reflection, we thought that there's a hidden world that needs to be brought to the surface. Lucia represents women who look for the sun in the darkness of her conjugal life, alone and hungry for love.
