STAIN
STAIN is a psychological journey that plunges an obsessively clean janitor into the depths of his own unraveling mind.

My name is Daniel Thomson and I am a writer/director based in the west of Scotland.
Born and raised in Spain to British parents who exposed me to a wide variety of films from an early age, I am currently entering my final year at the University of the West of Scotland, studying a BA in Filmmaking & Screenwriting.
Having worked on several student shorts in various roles throughout my first two years at UWS, I wrote and directed my first short; "STAIN" a psychological thriller about a obsessive janitor and his decent in to madness in 2023.
Influenced by the work of directors such as David Lynch, Jonathan Glazer, Wim Wenders and Nicolas Roeg, my main goal as a filmmaker is to tell grounded, character-driven stories in unconventional ways.
