This story is about making the decision between taking a safe, boring job (living a sober life) or following your dreams (being high on life) to keep your sanity. And the answer might be that you can’t have one without the other! In the end, it is all about the journey we undertake to figure that out.
Following the concept, I decided to go with a yin/yang theme for my visual approach, which ended up being a lot of fun. This is the first project where I visually represented the concept and the character’s arc in the wallpaper. That was one of my favorite details.
Because this project is about something very important to me, I decided to make it for my thesis in graduate school, where I earned an M.F.A. in Film and Television from Mount Saint Mary’s University. I put a lot of myself into this project and managed to combine all of my favorite artistic mediums: stop motion animation, music, visual effects and filmmaking.
