Experiencing Interruptions?

SOLUS IPSE

A mid aged photographer follows a shadowy man through the night, wishing to portray him, but the man disappears in a dead end cold alley. This man lives inside an abandoned old house in the suburbs, confined in this place he writes a story that never ends. The story describes a day on the life of two women living in the same city, two young actresses that carry a lonely routine, very much alike, and ironically different. They don’t know each other, yet they hold an inexplicably close bound, making every experience they had as a shared experience of life. The attraction between, drives them both to start a frenetic quest, while the resemblances they share start to exacerbate until they are completely horrified. Without the chance of avoiding their daily activities they continue as if nothing has ever happened, but they never stops looking for each other, mobilized by the shocking events of their past that can’t frame with the present and growing need to know suddenly drawing a path towards an unavoidable encounter. Nevertheless behind of what seems to be pure coincidence, there always the Man writing their story, inside that old house.
It is him that maneuvers the plot and their lives to his will.

Joaquín Dávila Romoleroux - 04 / 07 / 1994 - Quito, Ecuador.

Independent Filmmaker. Visual Artist, videographer and writer, mainly focused on the production of motion picture and photography. Experienced in scenic arts, as actor, stage director and theatrical lighting technician. Always priorizating a constant experimental signature on any form.
Mainly dedicated to the consolidation of a self funded production company, LEROUX Films. Whose ethic labors is distinguished from most of emerging producing companies, since it functions as a Lab and studio for visual arts more than an standard platform that delivers digital content, because the company is interested in generating special collaborations with low-budget projects, but with great creative potential. Conditioned by a competitive industry, the company hasn't grown much in terms of worldwide success, but it has delivered remarkable works within its own scale, these are usually small videographic clips such as filmchool and non academic short films, documentaries, promotional clips for different non-institutional clients, reels for particular profiles, trailers for future films and theatrical productions, clips for social and interactive events, scenic shows, performances, video clips, and collaborations with plastic artists, as well as musicians and live music.
His experience in the filmmaking craft is wide and mixed, since he has worked in different roles, developing mainly as director, director of photography and image editor, although according to the circumstances he has worked as actor, casting director, assistant director, field producer, sound designer, art director and screenwriter of his own projects. Many of this works are enlisted in an accredited filmography.
He also has a photo portafolio enriched by its variety and affinity to expressive experimentation with different formats, mixing the analog film with the digital, although in recent years the digital production is quite superior, containing portraits, landscapes, wildlife, stage photo, behind the scenes, collage, street photo, abstract, among others.
Since 2018 he works as a freelance director, on Buenos Aires and Quito, focusing in consolidating his production company. Also he has enrolled as assistant casting director in a advertising agency, called Estudio GENTE.

The reflecting image of our lives and dreams, is called cinema, because everything we experienced no matter how uncertain, ethereal or rare that it may seems, can be carry through the camera back to the real world, and lives forever in those who sees it on the screen. Because most of what we perceive cant be expressed, thats why film exists, to tell the truth with a medium that is based on illusions.
