SOLO "Edandress" (2025)

SOLO is an intimate portrait of Edandress's life, where he narrates his work as a performer and erotic content creator in Chile. Directed by Andrés Valenzuela and produced by Cinéculo, the film embodies the metaphor of dilation as the protagonist unveils what pleasure means to him: breaking away from a restrictive and guilt-ridden society, and experiencing absolute freedom by letting go and allowing himself to explore.
From his childhood-adolescence in Melipilla to the reality of entering the erotic industry, the documentary shows how the body, pleasure, and social media coexist to generate tangible economic support. It also addresses consent, a topic explicitly discussed in the documentary and a fundamental rule for the director.

Director Biography - Andrés Valenzuela Arellano

Santiago, Chile, 1982. Based in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Multidisciplinary "marika" artist. Creator of the web archive registrocontracultural.com, a platform dedicated to the digital preservation of Latin American, sex-dissident artistic memories. Born from turbulent and shaking times, it emerged as a space for visibility, existence, and visual rights, both individually and collectively.

I work with members of the LGBTQI+ community and allies in both Chile and Argentina, supporting an activist and integrative approach toward collective development within society. Since 2019, I have collaborated with various artists and collectives, establishing my consistent work as a videographer and filmmaker documenting artistic expressions from the local transfeminist scene and sexual dissidence activism.

My work has been presented in various national and international cultural spaces.

Director Statement

I appeal to oblique, defiant memory, allowing for the tracing and weaving of critical threads that expand into reflections on testimonies, religion, politics, and affections, in both biography and autobiography. These desires, upheavals, and reflections are inscribed through cinema, photography, performance, sound, writing, and installations, aiming to bring otherness closer to an identifying and divergent dialogue.
