SOLO
When life feels stagnant, motivation fades, and progress seems impossible, apathy sets in, pulling us into a cycle of isolation, despair, and uncertainty. Solo follows Max, an actor stuck in this relentless state—until the arrival of a wounded bird sparks an unexpected sense of purpose.

We are Tommaso Sacco (actor & writer) and Emiliano Bambusi (DOP), and while SOLO marks our directorial debut, we have spent decades working on national and international films and television.
Our passion for cinema took hold at a young age, each of us drawn to different aspects of the craft that ultimately shaped our paths. SOLO is the culmination of that journey, a fusion of our skills and artistic visions, bringing together years of study and hands-on experience to tell a story that feels deeply personal and profoundly universal.
SOLO delivers a powerful message about the fragile and complex nature of mental health. We felt compelled to tell this story after a difficult few years for our country’s film industry; where funding was slashed to the bone, and talent often went unrecognized.
At its core, this film explores the feeling of being stuck in life, of battling an invisible weight while the world sees us as having everything. Sometimes, the reasons behind this darkness aren’t clear; they simply exist. But what matters most is the reminder that, more often than not, the way out isn’t through grand gestures or dramatic changes, but in something as small and unexpected as caring for a wounded bird, a metaphor for the truth that no one saves themselves alone.
