SOLO

My photography and films reflect my role as a wanderer, slowly navigating manufactured, and natural environments, stumbling upon instances of wonder. However, it is rare that I am physically ‘present’ in my work. I dread that my authenticity would be lost if my work appears as ‘self-indulgent.’ In Solo, I decided to create a travelogue that interrogates my creative loneliness. I find solitude in nature and solo travel because this mode allows me to reflect deeply on my place in this world. Thus, my purpose for this film is threefold. First, to put my ‘self’ out there for examination. Second, to deepen my storytelling with photography and film.  And lastly, to inspire other artists to connect with themselves and nature.
