Director Biography - Julia Ernesti

Julia Ernesti, born in 1999 in Berlin, is a versatile artist and filmmaker with a background in theatre, literature, photography, and film. After studying German and Russian literature, Julia began her career in film, working as Project Manager at the Cinema for Peace Foundation, contributing to Berlinale Gala preparations.Her filmmaking journey continued with a focus on narrative film and music videos, earning accolades at multicultural film festivals for her short films Killing in a Vegan Way and On the Terrace, including Best Student Director, Best Dark Comedy, and Best Drama.

Julia studied TV and Film Directing at the Academy of Arts in Belgrade, where she graduated in 2024. Her recent short film Solitarius, a German-Serbian cooperation, will premiere in 2025. She is also involved in the Polish-German Co-production Bridge Forum and serves as Head of Short Films for the Director Talents Movie Awards in England. Julia currently works at Metafinanz as a Consultant in Smart Procurement Solutions while continuing to foster international artistic collaborations.
