SNEAKERS
A boatman who makes a living by ferrying people across a river, is approached by a gang of militants to take them to the jungles on the far shore, where they can execute a kidnapped prisoner. When the boatman inquires about the prisoner, they tell him the prisoner is a government informer.
Midway through the journey across the river, the boatman gets to know that the prisoner is actually a committed social worker who has helped the local community in many ways. He tries to convince them that they are going to kill a good man. But they shut him up, despite his many pleas, and shoot the prisoner dead in the jungle.
The boatman is stunned by their cruelty, and his sullen anger is aggravated in the return journey when he sees one of the militants has exchanged his own torn sneakers for the dead man's new blue sneakers.

Previously, he has been associated with several award winning Assamese films like, Barsharanya, Kothanodi, Antaree, Aamis, Kaaneen, Bhoga Khidiki, That Gusty Morning, Ishu, Alifa, Anu’r, Pokhilar Pakhi, Goru, Kiman Mati, Era Xutir Dhol, Liakat, etc.
The story very effectively conveys the degeneration of militant movements in the North East India. We strived to translate the author's helplessness and frustration at this decay in Neela Joota(Sneakers).
