"I'm Shawn Malangyaon and I'm a freelance Photographer, Videographer, and Documentary Filmmaker here in the DC, Virginia, and Maryland area.

My interest in film started when I was very young. After watching several films that made me feel a plethora of emotions, I thought to myself, “I want to create an experience like that for someone else.” It became one of my deepest passions, and in 2020, I picked up my camera and haven't put it down since. Now, with years of experience in both Photography and Videography, I've just graduated George Mason University with a Bachelor's Degree in Film & Video Studies (concentration in Production/Post-Production). I've had the opportunity to film weddings and live events, work on film sets to shoot narrative short films, and even travel outside the US to shoot documentaries.

Having the ability to create something that can leave an emotional impact is such a powerful thing. Accomplishing that through the medium of filmmaking allows me to have the most creative control over the viewer's senses, bringing me closer to fulfilling that dream of creating an impactful experience for others."
