SLS
“SLS” is juxtaposing two seemingly unrelated components. Obviously a kaleidoscope it folds up the visual experience of a 3-day urban festival for public sound-and-light interventions in the Austrian city of Graz ( https://www.klanglicht.at). The soundtrack is the song “Dicey Disco Dash”, stripped of the lyrics plus an intro that features original sounds from the streets of Graz. The idea of this work is a shifted perception of an actual moment in space and time. The city was real, the people were real, the lights were real and now they are something different. On the one hand an actual echo of the recent past, on the other hand, a completely different awareness of the audio-visual moment that can get repeated over and over again at various locations and times. The moving and engaging soundtrack provided the grid over which the changing forms and shapes immerse the viewers. A kaleidoscope works best when you turn it, so my film is also constantly turning and mixing up the digitally manipulated fragments. Based on slow walks through a concrete location, the sound & light shuffle of my work earned its fitting title: SLS - literally Sound-Light-Shuffle.

My artistic expression is spreading out in many fields, media and areas. Ideally, it should be enough to view my work and experience what I put into it. Ideally, I would prefer to let it stay self-contained, including sound and images. The rest should up to individual interpretation. But hey - I also read the descriptions of other people work ...
