Director Statement

SKIM is a very personal movie that I felt I had to make. Growing up in south Florida, with my family in the pool cleaning industry, it was clear to me that it's a male dominated business. I wanted to explore the female perspective within that.

With SKIM we had the chance to look into, not only the stark class divisions in wealthy, tourist towns like Naples. But also at the hardships of a young, closeted woman, surrounded by toxic male personalities.

On a broader scale this movie is also about feeling trapped. Trapped in your societal standing, in your own life, and in your own town. It's a universal feeling, that need to escape the things that hold you back.
