Born in the vibrant city of Medellin, Colombia, Santiago J. Safra is a visionary American writer and director.

Santiago Xaramillo de Safra y Andrade was raised by Sephardic Jewish parents of Spanish and Portuguese descent. A U.S. Army combat veteran, he served with deployments to Israel, Iraq, and Kuwait. His rich cultural heritage and profound experiences make him a storyteller like no other. Safra earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Filmmaking from the New York Film Academy and was selected as a fellow by the Writers Guild Foundation.
