SILÊNCIO
When Elisinha prepares to assume culturally adequate social roles for adults, her childhood and adolescence are thrown out the window. The absence of speech between her and her mother marked the boundaries of the family union and her humility is based on a strong sense of family and a vow of silence that prevents her from revealing to the world all the atrocities committed by her father over several years. For fear of judgment and fear of consequences resulting from a possible complaint on his part, he seeks to find an escape route from the disaster that has been his life. How is it that after being raped she will continue to live under the same roof as her abuser, living under constant abuse? How can she enjoy life and strike a balance between day-to-day activities and efforts to achieve psychological resilience?
