Director Statement

I grew up in Gastonia, North Carolina, and moved to Houston when I was 13.

I always enjoyed movies growing up, but once I watched Up in the Air starring George Clooney, I knew what I wanted to do with my life. I knew I wanted to create films that would someday change the world or shift people’s perspectives, just like that movie did for me.

That’s why I dedicated my life to film—more so than anyone I’ve ever met—because I understood the power of it. I understood that with the right film, you could point someone in the right direction, and even if it didn’t change the world, it could change someone else’s world.
