Selfie is a deeply personal exploration of the silent battles we fight within ourselves. As a storyteller, I wanted to dive into the raw, unspoken conflicts that often define pivotal moments in our lives, especially for women navigating the complexities of relationships, identity, and emotional resilience.

The decision to portray the protagonist’s internal dialogue as a conversation between five versions of herself was intentional. Each persona—her childlike innocence, logical reasoning, sensual desires, trusting faith, and present self—represents the fragmented yet interconnected aspects of human nature. These voices are universal, yet uniquely shaped by the experiences of women, who often face societal expectations, overthinking, and the emotional weight of decision-making.
The inclusion of a Baul song was a conscious choice to root the film in cultural authenticity.
Through Selfie, I aim to encourage viewers to reflect on their own inner dialogues, to confront the voices that shape their decisions, and to find liberation in self-understanding. This film is not just a narrative; it’s a mirror to the complex, layered nature of the human spirit—a story of courage, introspection, and ultimately, growth.
