Director Biography - Damien Bastelica

From the rolling hills of France, came a young man named Damien Bastelica, who embarked on a journey to the bustling city of New York, not knowing a single word of the language that surrounded him. Undeterred, he threw himself into his work, first as a designer, then as an art director and a creative director at some of the most prestigious studios the city had to offer.

Along the way, he discovered a love for 2D animation, and found himself immersed in it. And with the help of the internet and the brilliant minds he encountered, he honed his skills and became obsessed with his craft. And so in 2020, he co-founded Super Dope, an animation studio located in the vibrant city of Portland, Oregon.

When Damien isn't busy breathing life into the animated world of Super Dope, he indulges in his own passion for animation, creating short films that inspire and captivate. He finds solace in the world of cinema, always seeking new sources of inspiration.

At Super Dope, Damien works alongside a team he considers family, and he is grateful every day to live out his passion and create content that brings joy and excitement to himself and audiences around the world.

Ah, the journey of love. So often, fear and self-doubt can hold us back from pursuing what we truly desire. But what if we took a leap of faith and made the first move? Director Damien Bastelica did just that with his wife, starting with a daring kiss, and they've been happily together for the last 8 years. The message is clear: no matter your gender, no matter your desires, be it love, career, or dreams, take charge and make the first move. The worst that can happen is a bruised ego, but who knows, you just might end up with a resounding "YES!” The film serves as a reminder that taking a chance and pursuing love is a brave and fulfilling choice, and that the risk of rejection is always outweighed by the potential for happiness.
