We live in a society where young girls and women go through abuse in their homes, in the street, work place, basically in all facet of life.. and in most case they are afraid to come out and speak up about their terrible experience because society has this tag that comes along with their situation..
For this reason, many women become weak, vulnerable and dependent as they see their self as a lesser person because of a certain abuse that was done to them, for some it mess with their mental state as they become psychologically disabled not knowing what to think or how to react in different situations in their society or environment..
It also drive some women to become drug addicts, because they find it very hard to adjust or deal with that trauma and also can't speak up about it. So they turn to drugs as a means of solace or as a medicine to help them forget..
I was able to write this down because I tried to get in touch with people who had gone through different kind of abuse especially rape and I listened to their stories which was really sad and traumatic even for me by just listening to them and for some reason I could feel their pain so much that I was in tears while listening and I always burst into tears whenever I remember those story..
So I decided to put into words their anguish and share to the world as a form of awareness to everyone or anyone who cares to listen.

The beauty of Africa is its culture and the people. As the rise of gender inequality, rape, sexual harassments and child penetration increases in my society, I started visioning ways raise alarm and sensitize people about this inhuman act and the best way I thought fit to was to use my craft since I've always loved creating content. So I started collaborating with content creators and film makers to raise alarms through virtual art. I did a feature length movie about rape and gender inequality which was nominated in ZAFAA Award London and as well, so many shorts and poetry arts.
This fight is ours.
