SCAR

On February 1, the military took power. After that, people all over the country protested that they could not accept the unjust coup. Those who opposed the coup were brutally arrested and killed. People are forcibly arrested and tortured. In addition to human rights violations, peaceful protesters lost their lives due to torture. I also suffered a lot of emotional damage. Girls are also abducted and subjected to sexual violence and brutal torture. Women continue to fight violence with a strong spirit. This short film is created based on true event about a woman who was tortured under military interrogation.

Director Biography - Yit

YIT , Filmmaker

YIT is an independent filmmaker from Myanmar. Since 2017, he started making documentary films. Then he went on to making TV series and short films, also occasionally working as a DP. Some of the short films he works for as a DP were shown in various film festivals around the world including Oldenburg, Queer Asia, Canberra Shorts, McMinnville among others.
He is also a contributing director in Myanmar anonymous film collective that makes Berlinale Award Winning " MYANMAR DAIRES "

The creator and actors of this movie are people who fled from Burma. This film is one of many nights of torture after the 2021 military coup. In making this movie, they had to overcome the difficulties of not being in their own country. The woman in this movie was a successful professional actress before the military coup, as well as an active philanthropist. She is an active mother who gives up her current successful life and fights against every injustice. No matter where she is, she lives on with her immortal art. This movie is more serious than any regular time movie. For the sake of truth, for every injustice, for every victim who was oppressed, this film was made. The creator and actors of this movie are people who fled from Burma. This film is one of many nights of torture after the 2021 military coup.
