Santa Hunters is an Australian mockumentary about three people trying to - you guessed it - hunt down Santa Claus. It starts as a goofy tale with funny characters trying to do something silly. But just as you're getting cosy, it pulls the rug out from underneath you, transforming into a story about those who dare to dream. Surrounded by others who don't believe in them, and impossible odds, they push on anyway.

We know there is an audience who will relate to this feeling. Especially those of us in creative industries. We have big dreams. The odds are near impossible. But we push on anyway. This story is testament to that resilience, made by a small team with lots of heart. If you’ve read this far, we think you'll love it too.

Director Biography - Natalie Rose, Richard Jamze

Richard and Natalie first met in high school and have been trying to one up each others artistic projects ever since. Childhood sweethearts, they’ve since come to a truce and realised that collaborating with one another turns out to be quite fun, actually.

Collectively, their work has received numerous accolades. Including the Australian Government Creative Generations Excellence in Arts Award, which recognises and promotes excellence in young artists. Their work has screened internationally, contending in BAFTA/BIFA qualifying festivals, with their latest short, “MISS NOTHING” contending in the prestigious Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (AACTA) amongst others.

They have now completed their first feature film and most ambitious project to date, “SANTA HUNTERS”. They SWEAR it’s non-fiction.

Director Statement

Meeting with and filming these "Santa Hunters" over the course of approximately one year was one of the wildest times of our lives.

We went in trying to understand these strange people with their strange dreams. What we never could have expected, was just how much they'd impact the dreams of our own.
