Siddharth Banerjee, a budding Australian amateur film-director, who originally hails from the 'city of joy', Kolkata (India). While in Kolkata, Siddharth was a professional film & television actor for 7 years since 1999.
He won the very prestigious Uttam Kumar Award for 2 years in a row (Best Newcomer Award 1999 and Best Male Actor Award 2000).
Besides acting in more than 26 Television serials, 8 Telefilms and 3 Feature Films, Siddharth also worked as an assistant director of very high profile Telefilms and TV Commercials for about 5 years.
In Melbourne, Siddharth after a break of almost 8 years, just re-started his career as a director in 2015 with his first short film, 'BIPONNO' !! Siddharth, also, just recently, finished his second film in Bengali named, SAMPARKA, shot entirely in Melbourne with local amateur acting enthusiasts. This, incidentally, is also the first major Bangla feature film shot in Australia, being a 65 mins long movie.
