The Santa Monica Teen Film Festival is for FILMMAKERS AGE 13-18 ONLY! Proof of age is required to be considered.

The Santa Monica International Teen Film Festival's purpose is to showcase and provide an outlet for the creative talents of teen filmmakers, as well as encourage youth to use the art of filmmaking as a form of creative expression and commentary on the world in which they live. Although the festival is open to films by teens from around the globe, the public screenings take place in Santa Monica. You do not need to be present at screenings to win an award.

Best Overall Film
Prize: $40,000 tuition scholarship to Studio School will be awarded to the winner of the Best Overall Film. Recipient must be a rising senior or a recent grad. Students going into their junior year or younger will receive a full tuition 3 week summer camp scholarship to Studio Institute Camps valued at $3,000.

GENERAL RULES
The 14th Annual Santa Monica International Teen Film Festival is open to all filmmakers that are between the ages of 13-18 on or before March 11, 2019.

The Festival accepts films in any genre from 60 seconds to 15 minutes in length.

We award prizes in all of our major categories.

DIRECTORS OF SUBMITTED FILMS MUST HAVE BEEN BORN BETWEEN 3/12/00 and 3/11/06 TO QUALIFY FOR THIS FESTIVAL. DO NOT LEAVE THE DATE OF BIRTH BLANK ON YOUR ENTRY OR YOUR FILM WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED!!

By submitting your film to our Festival you grant us the right to put excerpts of the film on social media channels and/or our website.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
All legal licenses for music or images have been approved in advance by filmmaker. All films must have been made by filmmakers born between 3/12/00 and 3/11/06. Filmmakers agree to let the City of Santa Monica and Studio School use the submitted films to help promote the Festival and show winning films.
