Director Statement

I got the idea for the story of the short film when my best friend from high school told me that he gave a sermon at mass about being bullied and watching it from the sidelines. He apologized to me for not having intervened when I was being bullied. I was confused because it had never occurred to me that an outsider had to intervene. I thought the "fault" was entirely within me.

In the film, we are going to deal with this perspective of a bystander, and how a person can feel guilty for events that he has not directly influenced, but which he has allowed to happen. I want the work to bring out this experience, which is often overlooked, but surely gnaws at many of us.
