Run Brutis

B.R.U.T.I.S. by Rehd

Yes, Yes
This reminds me of Church
Yes, Church

Well, I can see I’m tired
Sun bright shinnin
But I stayed inside
Taking this time all to myself

No sleep, Brain fried
Starrin in the mirror, thinkin
Can’t decide
Who truly got my back forreal

No reason to lie
Open my eyes
It's hard enough sayin goodbye
Image Jack sayin that faced to Jill

Realize and testify
Wanna stay I gotta go
I think we must divide.
Enough on my mind
Tryna pay these bills

I can’t recall all them words you say
Them feelings never changed
Tryin’ my best right now to not complain
But in my upper back remains the pain
You gave that day, Thank you

Oh, oh, oh Lord

Well I can say I tried
To give you what you want
But now I’s tired
Going back and forth
Bout broke me in two

A guy I don’t recognize
Smile in your face
Then steal your pride
Just caught word I hope ain’t true

Rumors, roaming
Plotting, scheming
Jack my crown
Only thought I was dreaming

Got my face stuck on confused

Started, running
Shoutin, screaming
Spotted, blood
Looks like I’m the one bleeding

I only got one life left to lose

I can’t recall
No reason to lie
Open my eyes
It’s hard enough sayin’ goodbye

I can’t recall
No reason to lie
No reason to lie

I can’t recall all them words you say
But in my upper back remains the pain.

Artist Biography

Rehd (Romeiro) aka Young Prince Love, a new Hip Hop/ R&B artist of love and appreciation for self, his community, and the essence of free-spiritedness through dance music. Originally from Charlotte, North Carolina, Rehd celebrated his 10th year in Los Angeles diving into music releasing his first single, Quiznii with the help of brother, Odii-8ight (Anthony Jr.) with the blessing of their father, Grammy award winning Soul/ R&B singer, Anthony Hamilton.
Music has been a somewhat hidden passion for REHD since childhood. Brought up singing in a North Carolinian Baptist church choir, he’d occasionally step up to grab the mic and lead. But from junior high through high school, his inner song dampened as a Dark Age ruled with only flares of light. As an introvert, things were bumpy. Rocking a hardcore smile, his conscience was still eating at himself to find a comfortable place to be himself. This led him to theatre, then taking him out to Los Angeles.
With art by his side, the layers started to shed though remaining a gloomy cloud of worry. Of judgment. After receiving his degree in theatre and dance in 2013, he went on to co-found and run a Los Angeles based theatre company (Circle Squared Collective) while simultaneously being a member of a modern/post-modern dance company (Hae Kyung Lee & Dancers). In 2015, REHD joined a second dance company (Collabor8 Dance Co.) until he decided to depart from all 3 companies to begin his own, Black Excellence LLC. Leading with actions and words of positivity is his mission to spread more ideologies of love as an LGBT Black male.
Establishing Black Excellence, on his part, was a way to reconnect with himself from the inside out which somehow directed him back to some family like his older brother who produced the tracks for most of his music. Rehd writes about the love he has for himself, his family, his highest and lowest moment moving towards uplifting those who feel down.
